No General Education Requirements: Brown's Open Curriculum has no mandatory Gen-Ed requirements. Students have the freedom to choose courses based on their interests and career goals.
Interdisciplinary Learning: Students are encouraged to explore a wide range of disciplines and can easily combine different fields of study. This interdisciplinary approach fosters creativity and innovative thinking.
Student-Designed Concentrations: Students can design their own concentrations if they have unique academic interests that cross conventional departmental lines. This allows for highly personalized and relevant educational experiences.
Satisfactory/No Credit (S/NC) Grading Option: Students can take courses on a Satisfactory/No Credit basis, allowing them to focus on learning without the pressure of traditional letter grades.
Advising and Support: Brown provides robust advising to help students navigate the Open Curriculum. Each student works with advisors to plan their academic journey and ensure they meet graduation requirements.

100% Demonstrated Need Met: Brown meets 100% of demonstrated financial need for all admitted undergraduates, with more than half of the student body receiving need-based financial aid.
Average Financial Aid Package: $53,823 off per year.
Full Tuition Covered: For families earning less than $125,000 per year with typical assets, Brown covers full tuition through scholarships and grants.
No Loans Policy: Brown has a "no loans" financial aid policy for all undergraduates, replacing loans with scholarships that do not need to be repaid.
